PORTFOLIO - BRAND DESIGN
“The most colourful thing in the world is black and white, it contains all colours and at the same time excludes all.” ― Vikrmn
A powerful logo has a strong visual identity that connects people to your brand. Our digital world is saturated in colour, however, there are many places a single colour version of you logo is required - photocopying, laser engravings, embroidery, 3D printing, textile printing, partnerships, app or web icons.
Branding is all about storytelling—it’s how humans connect. Colour plays a huge part in how we read the story of the world around us.
After we have created a strong symbol that represents your brand, then we add colour.

Bathurst is on track to become a smart community of national significance.
What is a smart community? It’s one where technology and data are used to drive economic activity, meet the changing needs of the community through a digital strategy, accelerate innovation and better manage resources, energy and services.
Smart initiatives being implemented or tested in progress in and around Bathurst:
• Electric vehicle charging stations
• CCTV
• Free Public WiFi
• Smart street lighting
• Smart water meter readers
Council is currently finalising a SMART strategy to guide investment in future SMART projects for our region.
dauntingDESIGN created a suite of vector bathurst buildings that can be used in a wide range of applications from print to online promotions.
These building were the backdrop to creating invitations, posters, postcards, banners, window decals and an interactive game, to help promote community involvement in the Bathurst Smart City Campaign..
The Centacare Bathurst brief for this design job required the OSHC logo be adaptable for each individual centre as they expanded to new sites. Currently there are seven OSHC centres with more planned for the future.
The OSHC logo had to also incorporate the parent Centacare logo when necessary.
We designed a DL tri-fold promotional flier, venue signage, uniforms and a facebook page for each OSHC.

This was an interesting design job that involved peeling back the layers of this school logo for St Staninlaus College, in preparation for their sesquicentenary celebrations.
Over the years, many additions were made to the original logo culminating in the logo shown on the left. The original and most interesting elements of their logo were lost in the centre of the shield and all its embellishments and the addition of the font in Old English did nothing to help its legibility.
After researching the schools history, we were able to find the original logo design and present the school with a slightly polished version of this 150 year old design. We updated the school font to offer a cleaner more contemporary finish.
We also designed a street banner and other promotional material for the schools' 150 year celebrations.

The Mitchell Early Learning Centre logo includes some very special aboriginal artwork and some faithful feathered friends. It is unique to MELC and whilst it includes a nod to their past, the ultra-modern typeface was chosen to represent the exciting direction of their future.
The MELC logo has two parts
1. The beloved magpies who have followed them from the old MELC centre to the new centre and have been constant friendly companions at MELC. The Australian magpie is known to engage in cooperative breeding, and helper birds will assist in feeding and raising young. We felt that this was in keeping with the core values of the centre and make their magpies even more special.
2. The ‘sun’ part of the logo originated from one of the hand-painted poles that are installed in the outdoor play area. These poles were painted by local aboriginal artist Bubba and we were very honoured that he has allowed us to use his artwork in the logo.
The circular symbol represents a billabong – which MELC have in their unique water play area outside.
Finally we added some ‘Mondrian’ colour blocks to the type, because we believe that learning should always have an element of fun!
A beautiful new logo and rebranding for a beautiful preschool.
Beginning with an original dot painting by local Aboriginal artist Sally Beale of an emu nest, we added a gum leaf to represent WBPS’s love of the natural environment and the superb fairywren (a small Australian song bird, a local in Bathurst, who’s chicks learn calls from their mothers while still in the egg). The symbolic nature of the nest represents a place of gathering and learning, a space to feel safe and secure. WBPS has a strong commitment to learning through play and encourages learning and experiences rich in natural materials to create a sense of wonder, curiosity and interest.

The Biddy Walsh Logo depicts a serpent on an old Gaelic lowercase ‘b’.
The Celtic serpent (or snake) is a symbolic animal, existing in all Celtic mythologies. Often the serpent/snake is depicted with horns, suggesting a combination of reptile and mammal. No country in Europe is as associated with the Serpent as Ireland, and none has so many myths and legends connected with the same.
The Celtic snakes symbolize the notion of rebirth, or renewal of oneself. The old Hotel, closed for 4 years, revealed itself when it reopened with a fresh new ‘skin’ and a new lease on life in August 2013.
